Hi, I'm Mateo
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — new processes, new habits, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adaptation Phase
There was cultural shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began creating something that felt stable.
Why I Founded Harvest Plain Ridge
Much online information was either corporate-level relocation guidance or superficial travel material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn’t)
This site represents:
- Practical insights gained from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn’t:
- Not a resource for tourism authorities
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel diary
Looking Forward
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Mateo
